A celebration honoring alumni who passed this year’s bar exam was held on Saturday, June 14, at the Han Sang-eun Lounge in the Centennial Hall.

The event was organized jointly by the College of Law Alumni Association and “Cheongpa Law,” a group for graduates of our university who have entered law school. “Cheongpa Law” is chaired by alumna Park Sohyun (Class of ’15, College of Law), a lawyer at the Financial Supervisory Service. With support from the College of Law Alumni Association, “Cheongpa Law” provides current students with information on law school admissions, employment, and mentoring opportunities.

In attendance were 11 newly licensed lawyers who passed the bar exam, approximately 20 members of “Cheongpa Law”, and around 10 College of Law students. The event was further honored by the presence of President Moon Si-yeun, Sookmyung Alumni Association President Kim Kyung-hee, College of Law Alumni Association President Han Sang-mi, Dean of the College of Law Woo Byung-chang, Director of the Legal Affairs & Audit Office Lee Ki-jong, Dean of Student Affairs and Law Professor Jung Hye-young, and Dean of External Affairs & Communication Lee Hyung-jin.

A special career lecture was also prepared for the new lawyers, featuring senior legal professionals who shared practical insights and advice across various fields:

Cho Sarang (Class of ’20, CEO of SpeciaEye) spoke on legal tech and the use of AI in law; Kim Jung-jin (Class of ’91) introduced prosecutorial work; Kwon Byung-jin (Class of ’91, CEO of Law Firm H) discussed the work of lawyers at law firms; Min Seul-gi (Class of ’10, Research Judge at Seoul High Court) shared the path from passing the bar exam to becoming a judge.

President Moon congratulated the new lawyers, saying, “I sincerely congratulate you all for persevering through challenging times and ultimately passing the bar exam. Your remarkable efforts and achievements will be a valuable foundation not only for your alma mater but also for building a better future for our society.”
